Halcyon is a boutique destination salon space, and as such have partnered themselves with a professional and high-quality haircare brand.
Davines is a family-owned business in Parma, Italy, which has been in the industry for 30 years. They produce their products using renewable energy, no animal testing, and less chemicals - making it safer for our clients and ourselves, and also safer on the environment with food grade packaging which is easy to reuse or recycle. This was an important decision for us, as the brand we chose had to fit the underlying philosophies of our salon.
PHILOSOPHY
Davines have designed a product line that reflects their values, their way of respecting people, their context and the environment in which they live. The scientific knowledge behind Davines combines with the protection of the artisanal and cultural heritage of the Mediterranean region to give rise to optimum Essential Haircare® formulas, free from harmful ingredients.
SUSTAINABILITY
Davines believes in environmental sustainability, manufacturing their packaging with the minimum amount of plastic required to properly protect their formulas. As part of the LifeGate Zero Impact® Project, the carbon dioxide emissions generated from the production of each Essential Haircare® product are offset by funding the creation and protection of forests in Madagascar.
PROTECTION OF BIODIVERSITY
In extending its commitment towards the environment, Davines work with the non-profit Slow Food Foundation for Biodiversity Onlus joining its Presidia project. This helps to support more than 10,000 small producers, so they can continue growing indigenous plants, thus preventing the disappearance of a genetic heritage that has an inestimable biological value.
FORMULAS
The products themselves contribute to the protection of biodiversity by incorporating selected ingredients extracted from crops that are at the risk of extinction.
Davines have given value to the goodness of every single formula, enriching it with active ingredients from Slow Food Presidia farms in Italy to contribute to the protection of biodiversity on our planet.
The Essential Haircare® shampoo range is formulated with mild surfactants, and high percentages of naturally derived and bio-degradable ingredients. This, combined with a focus on sustainability helps to minimise the impact manufacturing has on the environment, whilst also delivering high-performance results.
